LANE, Meredith Reed

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 9, 1998, p. 14 Meredith Reed Lane of Wickenburg died September 7 at her home in Wickenburg. She was 88. Mrs. Lane was born April 30, 1910 in St. Louis, Missouri. She had been a resident of Wickenburg for 26 years. She was a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Survivors include daughters Beverly Lane Metzger of Scottsdale, and Jean Lane Smith of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lane’s husband Alfred Naughton Lane, also born in St. Louis, died in 1982. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 11 at the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Wickenburg, with Fr. Jack Smart officiating. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, 211 N. Frontier St., Wickenburg AZ 85390. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all the arrangements.
