Josephine Frances Ready of Wickenburg died October 8 in Wickenburg. She was 88. Miss Ready was born July 6, 1910 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the sixth of seven children of William and Mary Ready, lifelong Indiana residents. She had lived in Arizona for 50 years.
Upon graduation from Butler University, Miss Ready became a valued employee of Eli Lilly & Co., renowned Indianapolis chemical company. She left the Lilly Company to come to Arizona in 1948 and together with her sister, Helen established the women’s fashion shoppe known as the Bustle in Wickenburg. She operated that establishment on West Wickenburg Way for many years until her retirement.
Survivors include brother and sister-in-law James P. and Rita Ready of Newport Beach, California; nephew Stephen F. Ready of Gig Harbor, Washington; and niece Paula M. Elliott of Altadena, California.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 13 from 6-8 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:30p.m. at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg. A memorial Mass will be held today (Wednesday, October 14) at 10 a.m. at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with Father John Vogt officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. Anthony of Padua Columbarium.
Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all the arrangements.
