Mrs. Lockwood was born August 19, 1920 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of Edmund and Margaret Meyers. She had lived in Arizona for the past 11 years. Jean and her husband Jack were former residents of La Jolla, California. She loved the ocean, with the splashing of waves against the rocks and the mysterious fog. Retirement brought her to Wickenburg due to her husband’s health need for a dry climate. Jean led an active life. She was president of Las Vecinas Nad, Vice President of Club Amistad in La Jolla. She derived great joy in serving her community in a myriad of ways. Gourmet cooking, bridge, golf, swimming, bowling and oil painting were just some of the joys she had in life. Her greatest joy was her family. Jean is survived by her beloved husband, John W. Lockwood; son Larry Harker of Prescott; daughters Janine Sanborn of Wickenburg and Gretchen Manson of Phoenix; brother, Howard Meyers of El Paso, Texas; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren A private cremation was planned.
