Raymond H. Howard of Wickenburg died November 22 in Glendale, Arizona. He was 81. Mr. Howard was born November 24, 1916 in Syracuse, New York and had lived in Arizona for 16 years.
Mr. Howard was retired pharmaceutical representative for Merck Company. He was a very active member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling. His favorite spot to go was Bitterroot Lake in Montana.
He loved not only all of his family but just loved being alive. He was well loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed dearly by each and everyone who know him.
Survivors include his wife Thelma (Myrt) G. Howard of Wickenburg; sons Ray H. Howard of Yakima, Washington and Craig L. Howard of Helena, Montana; daughter Suzanne Howard Sandvig of Spokane, Washington; grandchildren Lance, Gretchen, Nicole, Jenna and Rachel; sisters Emogene Cookson of Lewistown, Montana and Rose Marie Thurlow of Wickenburg; brothers- in-law Milton Cookson of Lewistown, Montana and Ernie Thurlow of Wickenburg; other family members Douglas Dunn of Greenville, Rhode Island, David Dunn of Bellevue, Nebraska, Donald Dunn of Lincoln, Nebraska and Debra Nelson of Des Moines, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 1990 and parents Raymond H. and Maud Howard of Wickenburg.
A memorial service will be held today (Wednesday, November 25) at 1:30 p.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Wickenburg, with Father Milton Cookson, Father Dan Gerrard and Father Jack Smart officiating. Interment will be at the Forestvale Cemetery in Helena, Montana.
Contributions may be made to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Renovation Fund (choir).
