The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, March 29, 2011 Shirley Louise (Deringer) Hoss died on Saturday, March 26, 2011. She was born in Newman, Calif., on July 17, 1935. In 1963, Shirley married her loving husband of almost 40 years. She is survived by her three children, Michael, Catherine and Richard; grandchildren Alex, Spencer, Russell and Crystal; sibling Kenny, and her loving friend, Ginger. Shirley worked in many fields, such as manufacturing and electronics, but her greatest love was the church. She spent time in Africa as a lay missionary helper and traveled to many countries around the world. Shirley spent her retirement years active in Sacred Heart Church, where she participated in many ministries. She also was very active in the Legion of Mary. Shirley loved her bingo and her very dear friends. She will be missed by all. For those wishing to provide a gift of remembrance, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul or Catholic Social Services. An opportunity to greet the family will be at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home on the corner of Cortez and Carleton streets from 5 to 7 p.m. Following will be a scripture rosary at 7 p.m. A celebration of Shirley's life funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury in Prescott. Friday, April 1, at 11 a.m. will be the inurnment at Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
