Alta Gore, age 94 of Globe, Ariz. passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2011 with her daughter Zeva by her side in Globe. She was born in Harts Creek, W.V. on April 15, 1916, the daughter of Josepha and Flora.
Alta was raised in Harts Creek and attended school in a nearby town. As a teenager and young woman, Alta moved to the city where she worked as a nanny, living with relatives and taking care of their children.
At the age of 24, Alta married Albert Jesse Gore and the couple soon began to build their family. In 1956 the family moved to Arizona. The family lived on Golden Hill and later moved to Little Acres.
Alta loved being outdoors, watering her yard or swinging in her swing. She enjoyed cooking her favorite southern staples, watching her favorite TV programs like Nancy Grace, television ministry and loved the Lord. She was a strong and independent woman. She will be greatly missed and joyfully remembered by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Tug and Joe Gore.
Alta leaves behind in loving memory her daughter, Zeva (Bob) Bradford; her son, Erwin Gore; and her two daughters-in-law, Brenda Gore and Virginia Gore; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church on Vernon Street in Lower Miami, Ariz. Interment will be at Globe Cemetery.
