The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ February 16, 1984, p. 16 Joseph W. Phillips, 17, died Feb. 10, in Bagdad. He was born May 18, 1966, in Phoenix, the son of Denney and Sharon Stewart Phillips. Phillips was a member of the Bagdad High School graduating class of 1984. He was on the football team during his freshman year and played on the baseball team when he was a junior. He had joined the United States Marine Corps on a delayed enlistment program. He moved to Bagdad in 1968 from Phoenix. He is survived by his father, Denney Phillips, of Bagdad; mother Sharon Rudy, of Prescott; paternal grandfather, Robert Phillips, of Blackrock, Ark.; paternal grandmother, Eva Tegtmeyer of Manteca, Calif.; material grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Stewart, of Wickenburg; brother, Travis Phillips, of Bagdad; sisters, Debbie Wood, of Wickenburg, Angela, Patricia and Dawn, all of Phoenix. Memorial services were at 10 a.m., Wednesday at the Hilltop Community Church in Bagdad. Rev. John Schamber officiated.
