Linda Fantoni

Linda Fantoni, 60, of Linden, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, in Flagstaff. She was born June 22, 1950, in Chula Vista, CA, to David and Charlotte (Baker) Hughes, Sr. She was raised and attended school in Chula Vista, graduating from Crawford High School in 1967. She was married to Larry Fantoni on June 12, 1972, in the Chapel of Roses in Chula Vista. She owned and operated Fantoni Daycare for 17 years in San Diego and El Cajon.
She moved to Rio Dell in Humboldt County, CA in 1996, where she worked for Old Navy and in production for the Eel River Sawmill. Moving back to El Cajon, she worked for Robinson May from 1997 to 2005, when she moved to the Linden-Show Low area. She worked for 6 years for J.C. Penney in the catalog department, retiring in August, 2010. Linda had been a Girl Scout leader when her girls were young. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crafts and camping. She loved the holidays, and was the matriarch and family organizer.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; two daughters, Nicole Elizabeth McVey of Big Island, HI and Amy Lynn Robinson and husband Christopher of El Cajon, CA; a son, Jesse Andrew Fantoni of Linden; two sisters, Judy Ely of Santee, CA and Kathy York and husband Astor of Linden; two brothers, Mike Hughes and wife Nancy of San Diego, CA and David Hughes, Jr. and wife Anita of Anthem; three grandsons, Joshua Matthew McVey, Devyn Jade Robinson and Conner Jax Robinson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 2, in Black's Mortuary Chapel, Show Low.
