T. Clyde Banfield, 75, died on April 12, in the Wickenburg Community Hospital.
Banfield, who lived in Arizona, for seven years, was born in Butte, Mont., on Dec. 26, 1908. He graduated from the University of Montana and was an instructor at General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich.
He was also a volunteer Red Cross bus driver for the senior citizens in Wickenburg, past president of American Association of Retired Persons, coordinator for Tax Aid, Dedicated Older Volunteers in Education Services program for public schools and Mathcounts coach for the accelerated math competition programs at Vulture Peak School and elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg.
Survivors include his wife Banfield, of Wickenburg, daughter Sandra Stitt and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were April 16 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with pastor Bruce McQueen officiating. Private interment followed at Wickenburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Wise Owl Center, an organization to which Banfield was extremely dedicated as a volunteer.
