EARLE, David L.


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 17, 1984, p. 18 David L. Earle, 65, died in the Wickenburg Community Hospital on May 11. Earle was born in 1919 at Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was raised and educated at Rivi, Idaho, and served in the Air Force during World War II. He was taken prisoner in the Philippines in December 1941 and spent the duration of the war in a prison camp in Japan. Upon his return from the service, he lived in Ashton, Idaho, where he was engaged in the machinery businessman for several years. From 1952 until 1964 he lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was involved in the automobile business. In 1964 he moved to Challis, Idaho. He married Betty Dodds at Elko, Nev., and was engaged in the mining business in Challis until the time of his death. Survivors include his wife, Betty; his sons, David and Sam Earle; his brother, Don Earle and sister, Evelyne Jensen. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Phyllis Nixon and Catherine Coe. Services were conducted at the Wickenburg Cemetery on May 14 at 3 p.m. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Bishop Alvin Hancock conducted the service.
