Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published Saturday, April 2, 2011 - Lloyd M. Shepard, 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at his home in Lake Havasu City. He was born on Jan. 07, 1927, in Wheatland Platt, Wyo., to Paten and Bernita Shepard. Lloyd served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. He married Elinor, his childhood sweetheart, his wife of 62 years, on May 17, 1948. Lloyd worked in many occupations during his life all over the state of Oregon. He and Elinor moved to Lake Havasu City in 2003. Lloyd loved playing games and cards with his family and especially enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Elinor Shepard of Lake Havasu City; children, Paula (Lynn) Singleton of Lake Havasu City, Susan (Tom) Lindsey of Idaho, Steve (Jan) Shepard of Ore., daughter-in-law, Cheryl Shepard of Wis.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Terry. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Acoma Blvd. with Bishop Bret Deru officiating.
