Marion L. Hausauer passed away in Lake Havasu City on March 27, 2011. Services will be in Wahpeton, N.D., at a later time.
Marion was born in Mantador, N.D., on Oct. 28, 1929, to Melvin and Minifred Fluto. She attended schools in Wyndmere, N.D., and later at the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, N.D. She married Orin “Lou” Hoffman in Mooreton, N.D., in 1950 and later moved to Wahpeton where she worked at the State School of Science and was the Business Manager at the Breckenridge Clinic in Breckenridge, Minn., Mr. Hoffman passed away in January 1972.
In 1978, she married Roy Hausauer, and they spent their time between their homes in Wahpeton and Stewart Lake, Minn. They traveled extensively, as Mr. Hausauer was a North Dakota state representative from Wahpeton and served on many state and national committees. They made many friends throughout the state and country, and always enjoyed entertaining at their lake home, where they also enjoyed golfing and fishing.
In 2000, they relocated to Lake Havasu City. Mr. Hausauer passed away in June 2002.
Marion was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and was involved in many church activities. She contributed her time to many church charities and was active in sewing and quilting. The charities included children in Central America and local Arizona Indian Reservations. She was an avid golfer and actively played until her recent illness.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Hoffman of Vail, Colo., and Steve Hoffman of West Fargo, N.D.; two stepchildren, Joe (Liz) Hausauer of Naples, Fla., and Janis (Vern) Burke of Yakima, Wash.; two sisters, Yvonne (Charles) Link of Atlanta and Karen (Dennis) Zimmer of Sun Lakes, Ariz., and four grandchildren, Sam and Katey Hausauer, and Caitlin and Clay Burke. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard Fluto of Lisbon, N.D., and Stanley Fluto of Hickson, N.D.
