Darlene LaBree, age 78, a 19-year resident of Bullhead City, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, March 25, 2011, at her home in Bullhead City, Ariz.
She was born in California, and graduated from Vista High School in San Diego County. After graduation, Mrs. LaBree married her lifelong companion, Frank.
In 1976, Cal-Duct Inc., located in Bloomington, Calif., was started by Frank. Darlene was active in the operation of their family business until 2006.
Darlene always participated in her daughters lives as they grew up in Woodland Hills, Calif. She loved sewing, crafts, and for many years she collected dolls -- many of which she made.
In 1992, after many years of waterskiing trips to the Colorado River, the LaBrees relocated to Bullhead City. While residing in Bullhead City, she was active in civic affairs, and she was a member of numerous local community organizations. Darlene loved the casinos in Laughlin, and was a regular until her illness in November of 2010.
After 56 years of marriage, Frank passed away in August of 2006.
Darlene is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Pearson of Auberry, Calif., Roxanne McWilliams of West Hills, Calif., and Tracy Spreier of Temecula, Calif; four grandchildren, Shannon, Heather, Nicole, and Jenna; and three great-grandchildren, Dominick, Arianna, and Taylor.
The family is thankful for the friendship, love, and care provided by Donna Payne over the last two years of their Mother's life. Appreciation also goes to Hospice of Havasu for their wonderful support and care.
There will be no services.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice of Havasu, 365 S. Lake Havasu Avenue, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403. (www.hospicehavasu.org)
