Charlotte B. “Lottie” Long, 79, died May 24. She was born Nov. 10, 1904, in Phoenix.
She was one of eight children of Mirinda and Ephraim Baker. The family moved to Wickenburg in 1919 when her father purchased land on the bank of the Hassayampa River.
She was one of the five graduates in the class of 1925 at Wickenburg High School.
She married Clarence Long in 1928 and was widowed in 1960. She was the mother of seven children, one of whom, Raymond, preceded her in death.
She attended the Assembly of God Church in Wickenburg for many years and later joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Laree Dotson, of Anchorage, Ala.,; Wilma Taylor, of Eagle River, Ala.; Sarah Coleman, of Norwalk, Calif., and Helen Morris, of Wickenburg; two sons, Clarence Long Jr., Eagle River, Ala. and William Long, of Spokane, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, five sisters and one brother.
She worked as a housekeeper for many people in and around Wickenburg.
