Francis Lake Hayman, 74, of Princess Anne, Md., and Wickenburg, died of cancer June 13 in Wickenburg Community Hospital.
Hayman was born in Princess Anne, the youngest son of the late Charles Harrison Hayman and the late Mae LeCompte Hayman. He graduated from Washington High School, Princess Anne, and attended the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va., where he was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity.
Prior to retirement 10 years ago, Hayman was a real estate broker in Princess Anne where he was a past president of the chamber of Commerce and a former director of the Peninsula Bank.
Hayman was an Episcopalian and was a member of the vestry for many years. He attended St. Alban Episcopal Church in Wickenburg.
He was a member of Green Hill Yacht and Country Club, Salisbury, Md., and Los Caballeros Golf Club, Wickenburg.
Hayman is survived by his wife, the former Edith Courteen; three children, W. Michael, of Washington, D.C., R. Patrick, of Princess Anne and Louise L., of Annapolis, Md.; two stepchildren, Dallas C. Gant, of Wickenburg, and Susan G. Bjerke, of Boston; a brother, Sidney M. Hayman, of Princess Anne and four grandchildren. Hayman's first wife, the former Marion Lee Cochran, died in 1969.
A memorial services was conducted on June 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's church, Princess Anne with burial following in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Andrew's Church, Princess Anne.
