LaVon Whitehead, 62, of 3701 Crescent Rim, Boise, Idaho, died of natural causes June 28 in an Idaho hospital.
Memorial services were conducted by the Relyea Funeral Chapel on July 3, at 3:30 p.m.
Whitehead was born July 14, 1921, in Grand Mound, Iowa, to George and Myrtle Gold. Aug. 31, 1940, she married Jack Whitehead in Idaho Falls and they moved to Santa Ana, Calif., where they lived until 1952, at which time they moved to Idaho Falls and then on to Wickenburg. In September of 1981, they moved to Boise.
Whitehead helped organize the Land Title Company in Idaho Falls which she managed for several years. She was later the credit manager for Roger’s Brother’s Company in Idaho Falls and was a loan closer for Equitable Savings there. Later, she entered the drapery business in Idaho Falls and Wickenburg, retiring in December 1979.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; one daughter, Susan Bates, both of Boise; three granddaughters, Nicole, Rene and Jacquelyne; her mother, Myrtle Gold, of Boise and one sister, Jordis Shaltry, Rexburg, Idaho. She is preceded in death by her father.
