Herbert A. Omley, 60, of Bend, Ore., died last Wednesday at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend.
Omley had moved to Bend with his wife, Betty, on July 16 after living in Wickenburg for 13 years.
Born to Theodore and Andrea (Ramsilian) Omley on Dec. 30, 1923, in North Bergen, N.J., Omley had worked as a ceramic engineer for the past 37 years and was currently the president of Omley Industries, of bend, formerly of Wickenburg.
He was a graduate of Rutgers University in 1947 and remained active in civic affairs his entire life.
Omley lived in Dallas, Ore., from 1963 until he moved his business to Arizona in 1972.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and married Betty Ost on June 28, 1947, in Watchung, N.J.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Omley, of Bend; three daughters, Sharon Williams, of Corvallis, Ore., Christine Robins, of the Philippine Islands and Randi Tatum, of Phoenix; three sons, Dr. Timothy Omley, of Cleveland, Ohio and Ken and Dave Omley, also of Bend.
He is also survived by a sister, Lillian Landru, of Trumbull, Conn., and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were July 20 at the Terrebonne Cemetery in Terrebonne, Ore., with a private family viewing.
