Ruth Brown, 73, of Wickenburg, died Aug. 2 at Sun City’s Boswell Memorial Hospital.
Born April 30, 1911, in Brooklyn, N.Y., Brown had taught music in New York for 35 years. She had a doctorate in music from Columbia University and a master’s degree in psychology from Adelphi University.
An Arizona resident for seven years, she is survived by two daughters, Shirley Orlando, of Phoenix and Virginia Klein-Sargent, of Wickenburg and two granddaughters. She is also survived by a sister, Joan Haugen, of Washington, D.C.
The visitation was 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and the service was Monday with father Don Chilton, formerly of St. Alban Episcopal Church, officiating. Interment followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Arrangements were made through the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
