THOMAS, Orson Glenn


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 18, 1984, p. 22 Orson Glenn Thomas, 81, of McCammon, Idaho, died Oct. 9 in Pocatello Regional Medical Center following an illness. He was born Feb. 18, 1903 at Twin Groves, Idaho, the son of Joseph and Sarah Thompson Thomas. On Oct. 31, 1924, he married Mildred Smith at Mountain Home, Idaho and this marriage was solemnized in the Mesa Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints temple on Dec. 15, 1983. From 1948 until 1965, Thomas worked as a line driver for Garrett Freightlines. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His hobbies were guns and auto mechanics. Survivors include his wife, of McCammon; four sons, Glenn J. Thomas, of Moscow, Idaho, Robert E., Norman S. and Thomas L. Thomas, all of McCammon; two sisters, Kathryn Sorenson, of Firth, Idaho, and Lillian Parker, of Solana Beach, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William H. Thomas and two sisters, Beatrice Beard and Myrtle Richmond. Funeral services were conducted Oct. 13 at noon in the McCammon LDS Stake Center with Bishop Bert W. Marley of the McCammon Second Ward officiating. The family received friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the McCammon Stake Center. Arrangements were made through Manning Funeral Chapel.
