The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ December 13, 1984, p. 30 Bessie L. Johnson, 72, of Congress, died Dec. 9 in Wickenburg Community Hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1912, in Redding, Kan. She married Verna A. Johnson on Aug. 16, 1928, in Emporia, Kan. They moved to Congress in 1977 from Portland, Ore. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Sheridan, Ore., for 50 years. She was also a charter member of the Ulysses Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, survivors are two sons, Vern C. and Larry D., of Las Vegas; a sister, Rowena L. Bunyan, of Beaver, Okla.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services were at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Visitation was Dec. 10 from 7 p. m. to 8:30 p.m. Dr. Bert Follmar, of the Calvary Baptist Church in Wickenburg, officiated at the services and interment was in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
