SHOUP, Stanley H.

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 17, 1999, p. 16 Stanley H. Shoup of Wickenburg died March 12 in Wickenburg. He was 67. Mr. Shoup was born July 12, 1931 in Visalia, California and had lived in Arizona for 17 years. Mr. Shoup married his wife Judith on March 19, 1985, and enjoyed many things throughout his life. First and foremost was his love for the Lord, and going to church. He was a self-taught musician, learning to play the guitar from watching and listening to others. Amongst his many pleasures were: target practice with his guns; collecting miniature war planes; and was an avid Los Angeles Dodger baseball fan (until the Arizona Diamondbacks came into town). Mr. Shoup held many positions in his life, including working in oil fields, driving trucks, working for Speckles Sugar Co. and gardening, which really seemed to be his passion. He also was an artist who lived to take his lovely wife out to dinner and bless those who served them with a beautiful sketch of a rose. He will be missed by all who know him, including his little Sugar Babe who loved going out for her rides around town. Survivors include his wife Judith of Wickenburg; sisters Dorothy Wright of Huntington Beach, California, Helen Alloway of Stanton, California and Shirlene Clogston of Hesperia, California; brother Donald Meek of Palmdale, California and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, March 17) at 2:20p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church in Wickenburg, with visitation scheduled one hour prior to the funeral service. Pastor Mike Abdollahzadeh will officiate. Interment will be at the Wickenburg Cemetery. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all the arrangements.
