Margaret “Peg” Roebling Bowman Darby, 69, of Wickenburg died Monday, April 5. She was born March 2, 1930 and raised in Trenton, New Jersey and had lived in Arizona for 25 years.
Mrs. Darby moved with her husband, the late Myron G. “Bud” Darby to Wickenburg in the early 1970s. She was the daughter of the late Anne Perinne Bowman and Robert Townsend Bowman.
Ms. Darby was the Historical Curator of the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, creating many of the changing exhibits and helping design the museum’s General Store and Period Rooms. She won the Harry T. Needham Award for Volunteer of the Year at the Museum in 1989. She also was a past board member of the Union Industrial Home; Friends of the New Jersey State Museum in Trenton; and Garden Club of Trenton.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law David and Linda of Wickenburg, and Karl and Laura of Stockton, New Jersey and grandchildren Laura, Robert, Christiane, Cynthia, Diana and Marshall.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday (April 9) at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg, 180 N. Adams St., with Rev. James Longstreet officiating.
