Ella E. Barrick of Auburn, California and formerly of Wickenburg, died March 29 in Fremont, California. She was 88. Mrs. Barrick was born June 2, 1910 in Nogal, New Mexico and had lived in Arizona for 87 years.
She moved to Wickenburg in 1940 where she owned and operated the Arrowhead Trailer Park with her husband. It was not only a rewarding enterprise, but it provided much gratification from their involvement with many interesting people who were guests over the years.
Mrs. Barrick had a passion for genealogical and historical organizations and traced her family back to the Doomsday Book. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United States Daughters of the Confederacy and the DRT.
Survivors include son Clayton Weimer of Huntington Beach, California; step-sons Bernard W. Barrick Jr. of Payson, Arizona, Michael Barrick of Oakland, California and David Barrick of Phoenix; brothers Edward Dillard of Wickenburg, Jack Dillard of Tucson and Clifford Dillard of Bullhead City, Arizona; sister Frances Pfiel of Wickenburg; grandchildren Gary Weimer of Auburn, California, Jeffrey Weimer of Everett, Washington, Karl Weimer of San Jose, California, Clay Weimer of San Jose, California and Kelly Weimer of Huntington Beach, California; seven nieces; and four nephews.
Mrs. Barrick was preceded in death by her parents George L. and Gertrude V. Dillard; son Oliver D. Weimer; and sister, Vivian Moore.
Visitation was held from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wickenburg, followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m. at the church. Bishop Leonard Rucker officiated. Interment is at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
