Goy Begay, 90, died April 3, 2011, in Winslow. He was born June 12, 1920, in Big Mountain.
He was employed at Navajo Gospel Mission for 33 years as a pastor before he retired in 1985. He assisted in building the church and other buildings. After he retired, he enjoyed ranching and farming.
Mr. Begay is survived by his daughters, Lillie Whitehair, Lydia Gonzales, Juanita Begay and Darlene Luther; sisters Amy Goy and Imogene Goy; brothers Hosteen Goh, Herbert Guy, John Goy, Clarence Goy and Dodge Goy; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Begay; sisters Charlotte Lee and Susan Goy; and his parents, Bizadi Bekis and Ason Goy.
Funeral services for will be Friday at 11 a.m. (DST) at Hard Rock Community Church, with burial to follow at Hard Rock Community Cemetery.
