Neal Collins of Yuma, Arizona, died March 29, 1999. He was 82. A Yuma native, Mr. Collins was born February 26, 1917.
He was a graduate of Yuma High School and attended the University of Arizona. Mr. Collins served in the United States Army during World War II. Following the war in 1946, he married LaLine Glasow. They were married for 52 years and raised their children on their family-owned farm in the Yuma valley.
Mr. Collins was an accomplished horseman. He competed in team roping events and was a member of the Yuma Sheriff’s Posse. He served as president of the White Mountain Range Riders and rode with the Desert Caballeros in Wickenburg for 25 years. He enjoyed riding and the friendships he made along the way.
Mr. Collins shared his love and faith with his family and always saw the good in others. He left a legacy of encouragement and wonderful memories.
Survivors include his wife LaLine Collins of Yuma; son James Collins of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Larry Simpson of Wickenburg and Cindy and Kim Tillou of Yuma; and grandchildren Lacie and Jarrett Collins, Stocker and Sage Simpson and LaLine, Bond, Candace and Brady Tillou.
Services were held in Yuma.
