Priscilla Allen Layton of Castle Hot Springs died April 8 in Glendale, Arizona. She was 85. Mrs. Layton was born March 4, 1914 in Mesa, Arizona and spent most of her life in Arizona and Elburz, Nevada.
She was a rancher’s wife, school teacher, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include sisters, Vilate Cardon, Roberta Allred, and Jean Ipson; brother Gerald Allen; daughter Louise Layton Wood of Elburz, Nevada; sons Scott Layton of Castle Hot Springs, Arizona and Sam Layton of Anchors, Nevada; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Gayle Layton; husband of 52 years, Delbert Layton; two sisters and three brothers.
Visitation was held from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 10 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wickenburg, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the church. Bishop Leonard Rucker officiated.
Burial was at the Layton Family Ranch near Castle Hot Springs.
Frey funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
