William Forsaith Cowles, Sr., died April 22, 1999 in Wickenburg. He was 94. Mr. Cowles was born in Reading, Massachusetts. He resided in Woburn and for many years in Lexington before relocating to Francestown, New Hampshire, and Hawaii. Most recently, he resided at his son’s retirement ranch, “My Father’s House”, in Wickenburg.
He was predeceased by his beloved wives Eileen (Alden) and Miriam (Walker).
Mr. Cowles was in management at Stone and Forsyth Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts and later operated his own company. He was very active in Rotary and the Simon W. Robinson Lodge in Lexington. He was an active member of the Hancock Congregational Church in Lexington and the Congregational Church in Greenfield, New Hampshire.
Family and friends remember Bill for his love of hunting and fishing, excellence as a bridge partner, and his spiritual sensitivity reflected in his wide collection of poems and prayers which he called “pearls of wisdom”.
He will be greatly missed by his children Marcia Bushnell of Lexington, Massachusetts, Wilene Knight of Amherst, New Hampshire and William F. Cowles, Jr. of Wickenburg; and his step-children Clare Hollinger of Waikoloa, Hawaii and Randall Cowles of Chester, New Hampshire.

A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church in Greenfield, New Hampshire at 1 p.m. Sunday (May 2).
Local arrangements were made by Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wickenburg.
