The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 28, 1999, p. 14 & May 5, p. 16 Walter L. Hart of Wickenburg died April 26 in Wickenburg. He was 72. Mr. Hart was born May 13, 1926 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and had lived in Arizona for 40 years. He and his family moved to Arizona in 1959, becoming residents of Wickenburg nine years ago. He was construction superintendent for more than 40 years. Mr. Hart was very active in church and held a great love for helping children. He will be greatly remembered for his dedication to the completion of the Christian Academy in Wickenburg. Walt will be greatly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren, along with all the lives he touched along his way. A humble man who loved the Lord and His Word, Walt not only left behind his legacy but went Home assured by the Scripture found in Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not for works, lest any man should boast.” Survivors include his wife Selma of Wickenburg; daughter and son-in-law Beth and Dave Sparkman of Chicago, Illinois; son and daughter-in-law Larry and Angel Hart of Phoenix; daughter and son-in-law Marti and Ron Lankford of Phoenix; grandchildren Ami, Holly, Paulette, Jenna, Kellan and John; sisters Esther Kershaw of Sun Sites, Arizona and Marge Boyd of Pennsylvania; and brother Bill Hart of Pennsylvania. Visitation was held Friday, April 30 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel, and the funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 1 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Wickenburg, with Pastor Gary Golike officiating. Contributions may be made to the Wickenburg Christian Academy, 479 Villa Sereno, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
