The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 5, 1999, p. 6 In loving memory of Dr. Bert Follmer: It is with both sorrow and joy that we announce the passing of our Bert. Sorrow because we won’t be able to see him, but joy because he’s home with the Lord. Bert, 68, was born in Phoenix on March 4, 1931. He passed away on May 1, 1999. Bert was the founding Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Wickenburg and also pastured the church for 30 years. After he retired from Calvary, he was temporary pastor for the Grace Bible Church in Congress. Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law Ted and Louse Follmer of Maplewood, Missouri; brother Dale Follmer of Glendale, Arizona; and brother-in-law Sam Fontenot of Wickenburg. He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie in 1991 and brother, Wayne in 1999. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, May 5) at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, with Dr. Claude Moffitt officiating. Interment will be at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
