GILL, Clyde Lee


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 26, 1999, p. 16 Clyde Lee Gill of Junction City, Oregon and formerly of Wickenburg passed away suddenly May 20 of a heart attack. Clyde was born July 1, 1919 in Oklahoma. He recently moved to Oregon to be near his children and grandchildren. He served in the Army during World War II, landing with the first troops in Normandy and was awarded a Purple Heart. He drove long-haul trucks for many years, retiring in Wickenburg to hunt and camp. Clyde loved to dance and listen to music, belonging to the American Legion, the DVA, Moos and Elks. He is survived by his sons Donny and Dick of Junction City, Oregon and Darrall of Portland, Oregon; daughters Gilly, Karen and Clydene, all of Junction City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren ; many nieces and nephews; and sister Oletta and her husband Elvern, who was like a brother, of Phoenix. He leaves many friends in both Oregon and Arizona and places in between. A granddaughter, Tammy Gill, preceded him in death. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 25 at 2 p.m. at Rest Lawn Cemetery in Junction City. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of choice.
