The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 26, 1999, p. 16 Longtime Wickenburg resident Everett V. Vallas died May 17 of a massive stroke in London, Ontario, Canada. He was 79. Mr. Vallas was born July 15, 1919 in Flint, Michigan and had lived in Arizona for 10 years. Val moved to Phoenix when he was about 17 and worked for Mountain Bell from 1939 to 1974, retiring as a Mountain Bell manager. He was a member of the Elks Lodge for at least 35 years. Val touched many lives in his time with us and will be loved and missed greatly by his family, Thelma, and all who knew him. He will be remembered by his friendly smile and wave that he always offered no matter where he was. Thanks, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, companion and friend for all the memories we will hold of you in our hearts. Survivors include his companion Thelma Ollson; son Jim Vallas of Phoenix; daughter Lavone Archer of Mesa; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel. Interment is at the Wickenburg Cemetery. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
