BARRERAS, James (Grandpa)


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 16, 1999, p. 12 James “Grandpa” Barreras of Crescent City, California, died June 5 in Crescent City. He was 77. Mr. Barreras was born in Blythe, California on July 25, 1921. Prior to moving to Crescent city, he owned and operated Jim’s Market in Aguila for 30 years. He was also instrumental in organizing the town’s volunteer fire department and served as board chairman for many years. Survivors include his wife Dolores Barreras of Crescent City; daughter and son-in-law Mari and Peter Tardiff; grandchildren Stephen and Kevin Tardiff, all of Crescent City; sisters Agnes Merley, Frances Soto, Genevive Contreras, Mary Nichols, Jennie Naranjo and brother-in-law Robert Naranjo, all of Blythe; and numerous other relatives. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Coast Dialysis Memorial Fund, 2765 Ridge Lane, Eureka, California 95503.
