The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 14, 1999, p. 12 David James “Davo” Johnson of Wickenburg died July 6, 1999 in Wickenburg. He was 31. Mr. Johnson was born October 13, 1967 in Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin to Wayne and Gloria (Paddock) Johnson and had lived in Arizona for 22 years. He resided in Whitewater, Wisconsin until his family moved to Wickenburg in October of 1977. He married Cindi Jenson on April 17, 1988. They have made Wickenburg their home until his death on July 6. David was employed as a chef at the Wickenburg Inn and many other establishments in Wickenburg. He enjoyed the outdoors, including fishing, cooking, and talking on the CB radio with friends near and abroad. He had a deep love for children and all of his animals. He was a member of the Wickenburg Sons of American Legion, Squad 12. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family and many friends. We’ll miss his ever-present smile and prankish sense of humor. He had one of the kindest souls we’ve ever met and we will carry him in our hearts forever. Survivors include his wife Cindi of Wickenburg; parents Wayne C. and Gloria J. Johnson; brothers Dean and Chris of Wickenburg; sister and brother-in-law Tami and Randy Lee of Wickenburg; uncle James and aunt Velva Sass of Wickenburg; grandmothers Alma Johnson of Wickenburg and Lucille Paddock of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; father-in-law Don Jenson of Wickenburg; sisters-in-law Sharon, Shirley, Barbara and Stacy; brother-in-law Larry; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A private visitation was conducted. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ed Wessling officiating. A private graveside service was conducted. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
