The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 14, 1999, p. 12 Alice “Maxine” Fowler Billingslea of Wickenburg died July 6, 1999 in Wickenburg. She was 83. Mrs. Billingslea was born June 13, 1915 in Duncan, Oklahoma and had lived in Arizona for 28 years. “Mimi” to family and close friends, was a devoted and dedicated wife and mother. She made a home for her late husband Gordon and sons Max and Ben on various ranches in Texas and New Mexico. Wickenburg had been “home” since 1971. She enjoyed sewing, handiwork, and was an artist in later years. Her oils graced the walls of the Wickenburg Inn and in the homes of loved ones. Survivors include her son Max of Idaho; son and daughter-in-law Ben and Claudia of Wickenburg; former daughter-in-law Nancy Ohda of Illinois; grandchildren Dixie Jo and Ricky Chavarria of Peoria, Arizona, Beau and Barbara of Wickenburg and Karl, Michelle and Shawna; and great-grandchildren Rikki Jo, Cole and Austin. Private services are planned. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
