Thomas Arther Givens of Midland City, Ariz. passed away on March 31, 2011. He had just celebrated his 83rd birthday on March 21. He was born in Bumble Bee, Ariz. and spent most of his life in Gila County.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. He worked for Inspiration Copper Mine for about 40 years and retired. He was well-known for his bee keeping, wood cutting, and he never gave up hope of finding the gold in the Superstitions. He had no enemies and knew no strangers.
Tom is survived by his brothers, Frank Givens of Miami and Marion Givens of Kingman; one son, Thomas W. Givens of Midland City; one step-daughter, Carrie (Mark) Endicott of Globe; step-sons, Mike and Mark Baker; and ex-wife and long-time friend, Maxine Liest.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Claypool Moose Lodge, Friday, April 8, 2011 from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m.
A potluck lunch will begin at noon. All friends and family are invited to come and share your stories and pictures.
