The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ August 25, 1999, p. 11 & Sept. 1, p. 12 George K. Hutzel of Wickenburg, died August 18 in Wickenburg. He was 84. Mr. Hutzel was born July 1, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan. He had lived in Arizona for the past two years. He served in the Army Ordinance from 1942-1945, stationed in Fort Custer, Aberdeen, Maryland, Trinidad, Detroit and Rock Island, Illinois. In 1952, he graduated from Lawrence Technological University with a degree in chemical engineering and worked as a meteorologist. Mr. Hutzel was a life member of the Michigan Chapter of Professional Engineers and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg. He also was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Michigan, member of Lakelands Golf and Country Club of Hamburg, Michigan and Brighton Senior Men in Brighton, Michigan. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Wickenburg; daughter and companion Mary Smith and Alvin Belzman of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter and son-in-law Sue and Richard Tackelson of Wickenburg; grandchildren Karen and Gary Brewer of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, Heather and Douglas Stark of Brighton, Michigan, Jennefer Smith and fiancé Michael Guedesse of Wittmann; great-granddaughter Andie Stark of Brighton; sister and brother-in-law Mildred and Donald Castel of Oroville, California and sister Margaret Green of Northville, Michigan. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Ed Wessling officiating and at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 11 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Michigan with Pastor Mark Newman officiating. Intermanet will be at Acacia Park in Birmingham, Michigan. Contributions may be given in his name to a charity of one’s choice. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
