The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 6, 1999, p. 18 Mikel E. Denton of Wickenburg died September 30, 1999 in Wickenburg. She was 59. Mrs. Denton was born February 3, 1940 in Longview, Texas and had lived in Wickenburg for 26 years. A longtime local school teacher, Mrs. Denton was a member of Who’s Who in American Education and past President of the Arizona English Teachers Association. Survivors include her husband Roger Denton of Wickenburg; son Dan Denton of Chandler; daughter Denise Bergman of Wickenburg; and grandchildren Joshua and Justin Bergman of Wickenburg, and Tiffany and Dylan Denton of Chandler. Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her son Douglas Raymond in January of 1969. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. today (Wednesday, October 6) at 6 p.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Wickenburg, with Father Jack Smart officiating. Interment will be in Iowa at a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
