Mr. Mayfield was born June 28, 1914 in Galeton, Colorado and had lived in Wickenburg for the past 23 years. He served as captain in the Army, 699th Quarter Master Remount Troop and was in the China-Burma-India Theater during World War II. Mr. Mayfield was retired auctioneer from Casper, Wyoming. Survivors include his wife Helen Mayfield; daughter Bonnie Mayfield of Scottsdale; son Bill Mayfield of Casper; brother, Floyd Mayfield of Loveland, Colorado; and grandchildren Marcie and Justin Mayfield of Casper. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 15 in Greely, Colorado at Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th St. Donations may be made to Wickenburg Regional Hospital or a favorite charity. Frey Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
