Leo A. “Frenchy” Leclair of Wickenburg died October 10, 1999 at his home. He was 85. Mr. Leclair was born June 24, 1914 in North Smithfield, Rhode Island and had lived in Arizona for 27 years.
He served overseas in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of the VFW. Leo and his family moved to Wickenburg in 1972 from Wisconsin. He had been retired from Blakeley’s Truck Stop for 20 years but continued to be active in his workshop at home.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Eve; sons and daughters-in-law David and Nancy Leclair of Phoenix and Douglas and Becky Leclair of Wisconsin; daughter Dawn Adams of Wickenburg; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Glenn Wright of Morristown; and grandchildren Joshua, Hannah Ruth and Zachary of Wisconsin and Jonathan, Hannah Elizabeth, Dustin, Brian, Eric and Lucas of Arizona.
Visitation will be held between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, October 14 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home, followed by the funeral services at 2 p.m. Friday, October 15 at the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg. Rev. James Longstreet will officiate the ceremony. Interment will be at the Wickenburg Cemetery.
