The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 27, 1999, p. 3 Lucy A. Bye of Portland, Oregon and a former resident of Wickenburg, died October 23, 1999 in Oregon City, Oregon. She was 90. Lucy was born June 25, 1909 in Lemon, South Dakota and had lived in Wickenburg for 21 years. She attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa and graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Lucy taught for many years in Portland and also taught in Wickenburg. She was a member of the Eastern Star Daphnie Chapter 138 and University Women’s Club in Portland. She also was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg. Survivors include her son Lloyd Bennett of Glade Park, Colorado; daughter and son-in-law Connie and Henry Isbell of Mesa, Arizona; brothers and sisters-in-law Delmas and Evelyn Kightlinger of Portland, Oregon and Ted and Mildred Kightlinger of Salem, Oregon; sisters Helen Blakeley of Los Angeles and Carol Williams of Scottsdale, Arizona; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Paul Ageter of Eugene, Oregon; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday (October 30) at the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg, with Rev. James Longstreet officiating.
