CASHMAN, Edward Francis Ignatius


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Friday, April 08, 2011 Edward Francis Ignatius Cashman, 52, of Flagstaff, died April 5, 2011. He was born and spent most of his life in Chicago. He worked on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade as a broker for 30 years. In his later years, he was inflicted with advanced rheumatoid arthritis. However, despite the disease's rapid progression, he still retained a love of horses, poker and people. Regularly, he would attend poker games several nights a week and often lived vicariously through his youngest, Claire. More than anything, he loved his family and friends. To them, there had never been a stronger, kinder and more loved man. Mr. Cashman is survived by his wife of 19 years, Patricia; five children, Michael, Colleen, Kathleen, Bridget and Claire; his mother, Therese Cashman; in-laws Michael and Kathleen Corbett; and numerous cousins, friends, other family. He was preceded in death by his father, George, and his uncle, Gene. Services are being held in both Flagstaff and Chicago. In Flagstaff, a memorial will be today from 6 to 8 p.m., at Norvel Owens Mortuary; visitation will start at 6 with a service at 7. In Chicago, a wake will be held April 13 at Cumberland Funeral Chapels (8300 W. Lawerence Norridge). The funeral mass will then be at Immaculate Conception with the interment at All Saints Cemetery (Des Plaines), followed by a reception at the Hapsburg Inn (River Road, Mt. Prospect, Des Plaines).
