JEFFRIES, Paul (Jeff)


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 17, 1999, p. 18 Paul “Jeff” Jeffries of Wickenburg died at home November 6, 1999. He was 69. Mr. Jeffries was born July 28, 1930 in Boston, Massachusetts and had lived in Arizona for five years. Jeff served in the Navy and was a decorated veteran of the Korean War. He married Marylou Steffes in Colorado on August 19, 1950. After graduating from Colorado State Teachers College, he taught industrial arts and coached in Golden, Colorado; Chula Vista, California; American Samoa; and the Panama Canal Zone. From 1970 on Jeff was an administrator at the Canal Zone High School. He and Marylou retired and moved to Wickenburg in 1994. Jeff is survived by his loving wife Marylou and their three sons and families: Steve and Trudy Jefferies of Manawkin, New Jersey; Mike and Lori Jeffries of Phoenix, Arizona; Doug and Rita Jeffries of Benicia, California and grandchildren David, Amber, Lara, Bridget, Michelle, Justin, Desirae, Stacie and Shannon. Jeff will forever be remembered as a loving husband and father, for his wisdom, for his appreciation of life, for always having a plan, and because he believed in treating everyone fair and square. Rosary and visitation were held Wednesday, November 10 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 11 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg, with Father John Vogt officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. Anthony’s Columbarium. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
