MOORE, Arthur


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, July 3, 2003 Arthur Moore, of Gold Canyon, Az, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2003 at the age of 77. Born in Burnley, Lancashire, England on October 4, 1925. He was the middle child and only son of John Richard and Lillian Hardy Moore. He grew up in Lancashire playing semi-pro soccer and becoming a journeyman brick mason like his father and grandfather. He served in the British Royal Navy at the end of WWII. He married Eunice Cook in 1948 in England and they were later sealed in Salt Lake City Temple. They immigrated to Salt Lake, Utah in 1949. He worked as a brick mason and later opened his own contracting business. He is preceded in death by his wife Eunice in 1985. He married Marian Lorene Dalebout in 1986 a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Served in various church callings, including bishop of Salt Lake 1st Ward. Served a mission to England with his wife Lorene in 1987 and moved to Arizona in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Lorene Moore, sisters Jean Starkie, Ut., Glennys (Frank), Tidwell, Ut; daughters: Lowinne (Robert) Moore, Oakley, Ca, Sherri (Mark) Moore, Coles, Va., L. May Moore, Tx, Francene (Mark) Moore-Waring, Az, Jackie (Jerry) Larsen, Ut, Penny Peterson, Ut, Bobbi (Byon) Norris, Wa, Cari (Jeff) Warburton, Ut. Bonnie (Don) McCauley, Ut.; son: Richard (Sunny) Peterson, Ut; 27 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Services will be Thursday, July 3, at the LDS Chapel at 3585 E. Old West Highway 88, Apache Junction at 11:00 am, with visitation 1 hour prior. Graveside services in Salt Lake City. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Odyssey House Hospice in Mesa, Az.
