PRIEST RANDELS, Berdine

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Thursday, July 3, 2003 Berdine Priest Randels. My Mother is in heaven now after spending these past 99 years here with us on this good earth. Mother was born in 1903 in a small town in Gaddard, Kansas, her youth full of adventure on the rugged Kansas prairie and she was one of a handful of young ladies that graduated from high school in 1920 in rural Kansas. Berdine wed Claude Priest, a young engineer with the State of Kansas; her next few years were full of many moves as Claude was transferred around the state helping develop the Kansas highway system. In 1934 she was blessed with a daughter, (Claudine) and from that point on nurtured and gave her time and efforts to family and friends. Her strengths have been passed on to grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her beloved Claude passed away in 1974 and for a number of years she lived an active life of travel and dance. In 1982 at the age of 79 she married Lynn Randels, a prominent judge of southwest Kansas. They both traveled extensively and lived a rewarding 15 years together. Mr. Randels passed away in 1997 and Berdine relocated to the Phoenix area at that time. Life was good to Berdine and she now will be a blessing with all those close friends and family who went before her. We will miss her. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
