The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 21, 1997 Mary Irene Gorman of Wickenburg died May 15, in Sun City West. She was 69. Mrs. Gorman was born Dec. 30, 1927 in Flint, Mich. She had lived in Arizona for the past four years. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Stormy, of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Colleen and Ed Kane of Ukiah, Calif.; daughters Maureen of Olathe Kan., Sheila of Michigan, and Josephine of Chicago, Ill.; sons Terry if Las Vegas, Nev. and Brian and Ed Jr., both of Olathe; seven grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and James Mahaney of Michigan; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Jane O’Dea of Florida; Brother and sister-in-law Leo and Jane O’Dea of Michigan; brother and sister-in-law William and Joanne O’Dea of Florida; and sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Bob Cameron of Florida. Mrs. Gorman was born Dec. 30, 1927 in Flint, Mich. She had lived in Arizona for the past four years. Mrs. Gorman was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg. There, she served on the Pastoral Council and participated in ministry as a lector and altar server. Mrs. Gorman was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society and of the St. Anthony Seniors Social Group. She enjoyed golf as a member of the Wickenburg Women’s Golf Association, where she served on the tournament committee. She had recently become a volunteer at the Wickenburg Regional Hospital Gift Shop. Mrs. Gorman spent her adult life prior to retirement in Michigan, living in Owosso, Frankfort and Grand Blanc. She and her husband Edward L. Gorman (who preceded her in death) were members were members of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Owosso, Mich. After the youngest of her eight children began school, she resumed work at the A & P Grocery in Owosso, Mich., later transferring to the store in Grand Blanch, Mich., until she retired in 1993. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Stormy, of Houston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Colleen and Ed Kane of Ukiah, Calif.; daughters Maureen of Olathe Kan., Sheila of Michigan, and Josephine of Chicago, Ill.; sons Terry if Las Vegas, Nev. and Brian and Ed Jr., both of Olathe; seven grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Patricia and James Mahaney of Michigan; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Jane O’Dea of Florida; Brother and sister-in-law Leo and Jane O’Dea of Michigan; brother and sister-in-law William and Joanne O’Dea of Florida; and sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Bob Cameron of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, and brother, Lawrence. A Funeral Mass was held Monday, May 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg, with Father John Vogt officiating. A Visitation was conducted from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 18 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Her cremains are held in the St. Anthony Church Columbarium. Contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul of Wickenburg, 232 N. Tegner St. Wickenburg, AZ 85390, other United Cerebral Palsy, 321 W. Hatcher, Phoenix, AZ 85021. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all the arrangements.
