DUAINE, John Woodrow


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 11, 1997 John Woodrow Duaine of Circle City, died June 15 at Del Webb Memorial Hospital in Sun City West. He was 80. Mr. Duaine was born Dec. 26, 1916 in Angra, Terceira, Azores, off the coast of Portugal. He had lived in Arizona for the past eight years. Survivors include his wife, Jean, of Circle City; son Herman L. Duaine of Hayward, Calif.; daughter Mildred A. White of Alameda, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Albert Souza of Snelling, Calif.; sister Belma Souza of Merced.; stepson Michael Smith of Phoenix; stepson and wife John and Debra Floretin of Pomona, Calif., and wife and stepson Margaret and Clifford Florentin of Denver, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Duaine was a retired Greyhound bus driver, who drove from 1942-1974. He was born on the Azore Islands and raised in California. He loved to garden and enjoyed music. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Retired Greyhound Drives Association. Survivors include his wife, Jean, of Circle City; son Herman L. Duaine of Hayward, Calif.; daughter Mildred A. White of Alameda, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Albert Souza of Snelling, Calif.; sister Belma Souza of Merced.; stepson Michael Smith of Phoenix; stepson and wife John and Debra Floretin of Pomona, Calif., and wife and stepson Margaret and Clifford Florentin of Denver, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Memorial Services have been held. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg.
