STEELE, Sandy

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, AZ November 10, 2006 Sandy Steele, 69, a resident of Camp Verde, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006. She was born Nov. 12, 1936, to Joseph and Ruth (Stokie) Sandy in Phoenix, where she grew up and was a graduate of Phoenix Union High School. She was an award winning equestrian. She was also the Secretary for the National Speedboat and Water Ski Racing Association for several years. Sandy was an active member of the Camp Verde Lions Club, VFW and American Legion. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred T. Steele. She leaves behind her son, Russell Steele of Camp Verde; her daughters, Debra Fields of Phoenix, and Rhea Lian Barnes of Great Falls, Mont.; and two adored grandchildren, both of Great Falls, Mont.
