Mr. Almand was born April 25, 1954 in Riverton, Wyo. He had lived in Arizona for the past 37 years. Big Jim held a great passion for the great outdoors – an avid fisherman and hunter throughout most of his life. He volunteered many time to help raise money for various organizations in town. Mr. Alman married May Jane on June 25, 1977 in Evansville, Ind. One thing for sure, Big Jim did things his way, and although he may be gone, he will never be forgotten by those who knew and loved him. Thanks for the memories of being not only a husband, dad, son, brother, but also for being a friend to many. Survivors include his wife Mary Jane of Wickenburg; daughter Sarah E. Almand of Wickenburg, son James G. Almand III of Wickenburg; parents James G. Sr. and Christine Almand of Tempe; brothers Joseph Almand of Prescott, Keith Almand of Tempe, and Peter Almand of Chandler; sisters Kimberly Almand of Manchester, N.H. and Norma Sampson of Tempe. A memorial services was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sep. 5 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Longstreet officiating. Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all the arrangements.
