Robert Lewis Alexus Sr. passed away April 1, 2011, at his residence in Lake Havasu City at the age of 75. Bob was born on March 22, 1936, in Denver, Colo., to Reuben and Carolyn (Sena) Alexus.
In March 1955, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country for eight years before being honorably discharged in May of 1963.
Prior to moving to Lake Havasu City 11 years ago, Bob worked as a production manager for the Platinum Clothing Co., in Los Angeles, Calif. In Lake Havasu City, Bob was able to pursue his hobbies. Among them were golf, boating, off-roading and target shooting. He also enjoyed going out to dinner and being around his family and friends, especially during the holidays. He was also active in the London Bridge Yacht Club and a member of Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic Church.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Doreene; sons, Robert (Ronda) Alexus Jr., of Lake Havasu City, Ronald (Terri) Alexus, of Durango, Colo., Richard (Michele) Alexus, of Sunland, Calif.; sisters, Dolores Hart, of La Conchita, Calif., Dorothy Schoelen, of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and Deanna White, of Castaic, Calif.; as well as eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Carolyn; son, Roger Alexus; and two grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be Saturday at noon at Our Lady Of The Lake Catholic Church. Father Chauncey Winkler will offer words of comfort and inspiration.
