The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ October 1, 1997 Ethel O. Root-Colburn of Red Bluff, Calif., and a former longtime resident of Wickenubrg, died Sept. 24 in Red Bluff. She was 91. Mrs. Root-Colburn was born Sept. 6, 1906 in Anchor, Ill. She had lived in Arizona for 70 years before moving to California. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Darline and Don Jewel of California; sons and daughters-in-law Billie and Trudy Root of Wickenburg, Jean and Linda Root of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Frank and Vickie Root of Camp Verde; brother Rennie Lister of Iowa; sister Nellie Allen of Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband; Merton I. Root, in 1969; and her second husband, Glenn Colburn, in 1991. Services will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the Wickenburg Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Bill Root will officiate. Burial will follow in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
